SnapShot Gallery Talks
The 20-minute SnapShot Gallery Talks will be repeated twice each evening at 5:15 and again at 6:00 p.m. Talks are Free with Museum admission. No pre-registration is required. Museum remains open every Thursday until 7:00 p.m.
Back by popular demand! SnapShot Gallery Talks are a weekly series of short, yet in-depth presentations given by our volunteer tour guides. These talks take place in the galleries and focus on a single icon or a small group of icons. Make the Museum of Russian Icons your Thursday evening destination this summer! Listen to the talk, enjoy a snack in the Museum of Russian Icons Tea Room, and visit the restaurants and shops in downtown Clinton that stay open late on Thursday evenings. The 2 talks each Thursday are on the same topic. Topics changes weekly. Schedule below:
July 11: Mary Hunt, “The Monastic Tradition and The Solovetsky Monastery”
July 18: Barbara Blankenship, “From Playthings to Politics: 100 Years of Russian Nesting Dolls”
July 25: Dennis Sardella, “Protector from Fire: Theotokos of the Unburnt Bush”
August 1: James Flynn, “Connection between Realms: The Iconostasis and The Royal Doors”
August 8: Fr. Norman Meiklejohn, “Saint John Climacus: The Ladder of Divine Ascent”
